Japan Wood-Products Information & Research Center (JAWIC)，a not-for-profit organization originally founded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in October 1974 as Japan Wood-Products Stockpile Organization，has been committed to assisting consumers, central and local governments，and wood industries and distributors through research on forestry policy，analysis of trade and industries，and promotion of using wood. JAWIC provides the information on wood and wood products，including supply，demand，and prices in domestic and overseas wood markets，as well as housing construction. JAWIC also undertakes various research in wood use and market in Japan for both domestic and foreign clients.
